Electronic Resource Management: Leaving the Solo Gig Behind. Carrie Curie, Electronic Access Lead Librarian, PALS.

In 2022, PALS went from a single staff member handling the bulk of ERM, with some areas parceled to others, to a dedicated ERM Team. Learn about PALS's reasons for making these changes, including distributing our ticket/caseloads differently and a consortial shift to NZ shared collections. Hear about the opportunities and challenges this created and catch up on the group over a year after its formal introductions to see how duties shifted, the changes to tasks we implemented, and the impressions left with the staff member who was there from the start.

Accessibility for Users with Disabilities: A Collaborative Story. Mark Weiler, Web and User Experience librarian, Wilfrid Laurier University.

Ensuring Primo VE, Alma, RapidILL, and other library experiences do not disadvantage users with disabilities is a global concern.  As a Web & User Experience librarian, I have reported over 200 accessibility issues to Ex Libris. The bold may be quick to assign blame, while the wise approach with curiosity. For a tale is to be told!  In this presentation, I share the user story that catalyzed this journey. Hear stories of integrating a “Request alternate formats for print disabled users” link into Primo VE, a consortium’s “Accessibility monitoring table”, and the gatherings of accessibility travelers from far and wide who meet at the “Accessibility Bridge” to talk about a more accessible Primo VE and Alma experience. But this journey needs someone, if we are to succeed. It needs YOU, brave traveler.

Ordering ERM - Ebook Management Best Practices and Tips, Plus Identification and Cleanup of Mis- or Non-Linked Ebook Titles.  Mary O'Dea, Head of Resource and Acquisitions Management, Hamline University. Carrie Curie, Electronic Access Lead Librarian, PALS

What to do, when one spots individually purchased ebooks that are: activated on their hosting platforms, not discoverable in Primo, and not connected to their PO Lines? What are some ways for library staff to find these titles, to ensure that they are made discoverable and trackable, and that they are linked to their POLs in Alma?

From a library that spent its Alma/Primo years 1-4 with a manual acquisitions workflow, and its new consortium, comes a discussion of better training to prevent the above scenarios in the future, and some ways to identify and repair problems created in the past. This session will describe some available resources to assist in this work, including some Analytics.
