Strategic Vision Part 2: The Next Discovery Experience, Leganto & Getting It All Together. Eyal Kirshner, Ex Libris; Guy Ben-Porat, Ex Libris

Create the proactive library that engages the entire community and doesn’t just react to the users that walk in the door. From discovery to action, anticipate users’ needs and respond when needed, not when asked, with personalized content and information. In this session, we’ll share our vision for how we think a proactive and personalized experience for all users from students to library staff will make a difference for the future of libraries.

Primo Product Update. Yisrael Kuchar, Ex Libris

Join us for a Primo and Primo VE product update, an overview of their roadmaps, and the exciting things coming up.

Integrated Usability Testing for Primo VE Migration.Lauren Johnson, Nevada State College

When migrating to or implementing a new discovery layer, how do you know which customization decisions are the right ones?  Duplicating  previous customizations or using out-of -the-box setups are viable options, but these options carry the potential drawbacks of replicating current usability problems or creating new ones. While usability testing can (and often does) take place after a system has gone live–integrating usability testing during the migration or implementation process can take the guess-work out of customization decisions and provide library users with a better experience that starts at system launch instead of months or years down the line. This session details how librarians at Nevada State College’s Marydean Martin Library integrated guerrilla usability testing into their Primo VE migration process and used the resulting data to make customization decisions to improve the UI prior to going live.
